"Oh, I- yeah, okay," Hawke says, his attention now focused on the very small, very fragile feeling animal that is attempting to clamber up to his shoulder and rub herself in his dark curls. He keeps his big hands gently wrapped around her slim body, turning his head to try and look at her.

"She's, uh ... right, look, cat, I don't think there's anything all that interesting in there, I promise," he mutters, then attempts a ginger stroke down her spine.
